me too
I like design 5 better.
We can enhance the blue header with a tabbed region that is similar to that in http://developer.yahoo.com/
I would say 6 but with the search bar above the logo (like the 5).
… and make it a fluid design, not a fixed size (I know that are images I’m talking about the real page)
Mirror effect in header of design 5 is good as far as I'm concerned (and probably design 6 too). Unfortunately the download/demo/rss buttons aren't, for reasons explained in my previous post.
While it's not a big deal which design will be used for this site, my thoughts might be of some value in general considerations about good web design.

Design 3

Design 4

Design 5:

Design 6: New

Design 7: New
Design 7 would be nice without the grey bar at the top (it 's senseless) and with the header a bit larger (text and logo are too much near the border).
I actually still like design 5 better because its color scheme is more unique than design 7. We only need to make a bit more work in filling in the big blue area with some dynamic content instead of those lengthy words.

Ok Qiang, then we are as designer 5

Good, currently this is my favourite… but qiang pefers the 5 and he’s the boss here
I think the menu of the 5 is too much similar to the Windows Vista taskbar
My favorites are: 6 and 7
I like: 6
Maybe the 7-modified with the header of the 6 (white-light blue)
I vote for design 5 …but maybe the header could be improved … no ?
Is there a cut off date for design proposals Qiang?
I don't have any designs to show off at the moment, but if anyone's interested here are my design proposals from a couple of years ago for Kohana.

Since then I believe my PS/AI skills have been improved so if there’s still time and room for more designs, I’d love to get my hands dirty.
Cheers

I think top of the page (Yii framework writing and Yii logo is a little bit crappy). I do not like this logo even font which you've used there. Everything else on page looks nice.
Btw. If I can suggest something. Yii is developed for aplication which should be quick, large and powerful. Therefore I think logo should tell other people about that principles. I suggest to transform name Yii in logo into shape of locomotive (as a reference what I’m thinking about please have a look on this page - Polish Railway page: http://www.intercity.pl/)

Why do not you do a design for us.
It's easy to put defects, but instead of just putting defect.
Show a solution.
Well this is my final design of the 8 that I created.
So for design, i think we need the following to be polished. Other things are minor and can be adjusted later.

I had tried to do some logo for Yii some time ago but then had been busy with my work so had not the time to finish them… anyway here is the "sketch":
…done them with inkscape…
the design I like the most is this one:
http://www.ic.uff.br…yii/index5.html
maybe with a dark grey left and right border instead of the black one…
bye,
Giovanni.
