Yii 1.0.2 is released

Dear Yii Folks,

We are proud to announce the release of Yii Framework v1.0.2!

In this release, we included about 40 enhancements and 10 bug fixes. We implemented the behavior feature that can be used to enhance existing components (e.g. application, model) in a plug-in-and-use approach. We introduced several improvements to the already sophisticated ActiveRecord feature, including the newly implemented scenario-based massive attribute assignment feature, the support for on-the-fly relational query options, and the radical way to perform eager loading. Last but not the least, we implemented the choice format feature for I18N which greatly simplifies plural form handling in message translation.

A list of all issues resolved in this release can be found at: http://www.yiiframew…GELOG-1.0.2.txt

Please read carefully about the upgrading instructions as this release contains some changes that break backward compatibility.

With the Yii community's tremendous help, this release also contains translations for core messages, documentation and views in many languages, including German, Spanish, French, Hebrew, Italian, Dutch, Japanese, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Swedish, Simplified and Traditional Chinese.

We would like to thank our Yii users for their generous contribution and effort put in to this project. Special thanks to those who participated in translation: http://www.yiiframew…40.html#msg2340

Cheers!

If you are using yiilite.php in your application, you may encounter some problem complaining classes or constants are not defined. This is caused by line 24. You may safely comment it out. It seems PHP behaves differently on different OS on how a file is parsed.

We also recommend that you use yii.php instead of yiilite.php. The performance improvement done in version 1.0.1 has greatly narrowed the gap between the two.

Great work qiang! I look forward to switching over.

Great!  I've been waiting for this release so I could blog about some of the features in it… Thanks!
