is there an XLS and/or PDF helper, plug-in for Yii?

Not at the moment, Though PDF is something i do plan on writing for Yii.

there are some libs out there (ie.: http://www.fpdf.org/) just wanted to make sure there is nothing built-in before do something else.

Currently no, But there are plans (at least for me) to add components to the Yii framework to support those (PDF for sure will see about XLS)

There is an extension from MetaYii: http://www.yiiframew…xtension/tcpdf/

Haven't test it though.
