I have a website written by person that i don’t know. This person write his own too complicated MVC framework without any documentation and even comments. My task is to add some module to this website, that works with already existing database.
This site has a layout file "MainLayout.html" (View) which contains code like this:
<html> <body> <div class="header"> ... </div> <div class="content"> <?php echo $contentModule1; ?> <?php echo $contentModule2; ?> </div> </body> </html>
(these variables are filled by Model/Controller)
I don’t want to waste my time for understanding this site framework. I decided to inject my separate module in this MainLayout.html, and do this that way:
... <div class="content"> <?php echo $contentModule1; ?> <?php // Here comes my module include "my_separate_module.php" ?> <?php echo $contentModule2; ?> </div> ...
, where my_separate_module.php is independent module that i will write.
So i want to use some ActiveRecord framework in my module. At first i decided to use phpactiverecord, but found that it needs PHP 5.3 (web-hosting of subject site has PHP 5.2 ).
I have good experience in using Yii framework and it’s ActiveRecord model, so my question is:
is there any way to use only CActiveRecord class from Yii framework for my module, without using the whole Yii framework? Maybe you can advice something in my situation.
Thank you, sorry if it is offtop.
