Updated version of jQuery soon?

Is there a chance that we get an updated version of jQuery stuff any time soon?
Alternatively - is there a way to manually upgrade it?

The current version of jQuery in Yii 1.1.x is 1.12.4
It has known security issues: jquery@1.12.4 vulnerabilities | jquery 1.12.4 | Snyk

Can you open a ticket so that Yii team will update the version?
That is a way easier than finding workaround
