Is there any way to change the template file extension to ".tpl" but still use the Yii view renderer?

Anyone? Hoping the above wasn’t a dumb question :)

Just read Documentation and API. You can inherit CThemeManager component and override appropriate methods.

I did read the docs and couldn’t figure it out which is why I came here.

Note that not every IDE/Editor will recognize files with that extension as a HTML & PHP mix and you can end up with syntax highlighting not working. Can be a major pain.
