Read and Send Emails from Yii Backend

Hello,
I’m looking for a solution which allows me to receive and send/reply to emails from within the yii backend. I host my yii app on a dedicated server so I’ve full access to server. I’ve been Googling but couldn’t find any solution. Can anyone recommend anything?

Assumption here you want IMAP not POP3
