Hi all, I know it’s probably a bit early for this, but I’m starting rewriting an application from Yii 1.1 to Yii 2.0 and are worried reading about Yii 3.0. So…

  • Is there a time target to the first stable release of 3.0?
  • Will 3.0 be compatible with 2.0?
  • Will it be possible to migrate from 2.0 to 3.0 without rewriting application?

  1. No timeline for now.
  2. No. There will be a migration guide. It’s not as bad as 1.1 -> 2.0 though.
  3. Without coding - no. Without full rewrite - yes.
