What is the easies way to capture a user signature?

Running yii app on a tablet pc.

but what is in practice? A jpeg of a scan of the signature? Or the id of the public key of the digital signature? Or a formatted text to display at the bottom of each post?

I think Thomas Bradley’s Signature Pad would work. It would be great if there were an extension incorporating this!
