Mail Function Error

Hi, i’m new to yii and trying to do recover password with this (http://www.yiiframework.com/extension/yii-user/) module. I copied requred files to my solution and i’m getting an error when send emails

mail(): Failed to connect to mailserver at "localhost" port 25, verify your "SMTP" and "smtp_port" setting in php.ini or use ini_set()

any idea?

It says your activationemail setting is activated, but i could not send mail because of smtp setting in PHP.ini

Open your php.ini file and set smtp setting … then it will work as you expected.

Are you working locally? If so you might not have the mail server set up on your computer.
