I’ve refered to http//www.noupe.com/tutorial/drop-down-menu-jquery-css.html and finished working out a drop down menu.
I call it QMenu.Hope it is useful.
Usage:
Unzip QMenu to your protected/extensions directory;
Use it like bellow:
$this->widget('ext.QMenu.QMenu',array(
'items'=>array(
array('label'=>'Home', 'url'=>array('/site/index')),
array('label'=>'View', 'url'=>array('/'),
'submenuOptions'=>array(
'class'=>'subnav'
),
'items'=>array(
array('label'=>'Latest Outputs', 'url'=>array('/solardata1')),
array('label'=>'PV Ladder', 'url'=>array('')),
array('label'=>'PV Donut ', 'url'=>array('')),
array('label'=>'Daily Outputs', 'url'=>array('')),
array('label'=>'Live Outputs', 'url'=>array('')),
array('label'=>'Teams', 'url'=>array(''))
)
),
array('label'=>'About', 'url'=>array('/site/page', 'view'=>'about')),
array('label'=>'Contact', 'url'=>array('/site/contact'))
));

When using this code and your example i get:
include(/var/www/html/protected/extensions/emenu/Browser.php) [<a href=‘function.include’>function.include</a>]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory
Which is true, but then I installed the emenu extension as well and it doesn’t have a Browser.php file. I am definitely interested in getting this working…

Open the QMenu.php file and change
Yii::import('application.extensions.emenu.Browser'); //line 4
to
Yii::import('application.extensions.Qmenu.Browser');
