Sorry for steering off topic a little, but I use the datatables.net js grid and made EDataTables extension for it. I use it daily and if there is user feedback I keep releasing updates.
I checked out jqGrid today and at least basic features seem same as in datatables, so probably for most users it’s just the matter of taste.
