Hi Guys

Is it possible to resell product developed in Yii using its licensing ?. I have read the license agreement however am confused about the licensing part.

Kindly clarify guys

Yes.

The only limitation is that you can’t advertise product like “it’s good because it’s based on Yii” without prior written permission from Yii team. You can freely mention that the product uses Yii as a base though.

  1. Can we encrypt or obfuscate the source code of the product that are developed for reselling using Yii 1/2 ?

  2. Can we rename the Yii folder to some other name for security reasons ? However, we’ll still retain all the copyright to Yii mentioned in Yii Licence agreement
