Using Yii1 at festivalspecials.com has been a great experience so far and it’s working pretty well too.
When we started working with FestivalSpecials it was already using Yii and instead of rewriting the thing we decided to give it a try, so it’s the first time we’re using this framework. It’s been easy to learn the basics and the documentation is always complete and useful, we had zero problems with the framework so far.
Right now the site is handling thousands of monthly requests in a dirty cheap server, we’re doing so with a combination of Yii cache system and Ngnix caching, as well as using CDNs where it makes sense.
