Is there a simple way I can get a country name from a locale id?
You can have a table with the ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 Country Codes and search there when your locale id has the country information, like in "en-us".
If the locale id doesn’t have country information, you can’t: the locale may apply to more than one country, like in “en”.
