I was trying to install yii2-user over yii2 and it appeared that packagist version of yii2 is a little bit outdated.
How can I alter my composer.json file to make it use github brandnew and fresh repo.

You can just wait some hours and it will update automatically. If it’s way too outdates, we may have a problem to fix.
