Application Runtime Path Is Not Valid

Hi I copied chapter 12 into htdocs and get the following error:

Application runtime path "C:\xampp\htdocs\yii\chapter12\protected\runtime" is not valid. Please make sure it is a directory writable by the Web server process.

BTW /protected/runtime/ doesn’t exist.

Nevermind… the problem stops if I create a protected/runtime/ folder.
